Excellence in Theatre for Buffalo and Beyond

The AEE Theatre Company is not an activity; it is a lifestyle, preparing each and every performing artist within the company to be a contributing and successful member of the ever changing global community.  To be a member of the AEE Theatre Company, you are not only gaining a love, knowledge and training for the theatre environment but for every aspect of your life as you prepare for the next stage of college and adulthood.

The AEE college preparatory program is the ONLY theatre program of its kind in the country that is not a full day performing arts high school.  When you become a member of The AEE Theatre Company, you commit to performing more than the average teenager, achieving more than the average teenager, expecting more out of yourself than the average teenager.  Being on stage is only a VERY Small part of what the AEE Theatre Company is about.

It is our belief that it is only after the stage goes dark when the world discovers just how good of a "performer" you really are....

When you are a member of Academy Encore Ensemble, theatre is a platform.  A platform to achieve anything and everything you strive for and dream of...as long as you are willing to work hard, have passion, and be committed!

AEE College Visitation Program

Objective:

To begin to prepare and educate AEE high school students for the collegiate environment and expectations.

The AEE College Visitation Program links members of the theatre company with some of the finest musical theatre programs in the country to view and experience first hand college productions and departments.   Approximately four to five times a year, we will travel to selected programs where we will watch a production and be able to take advantage of a talkback, department tour and/or classroom observation with college performers, directors and instructors.  This will allow serious AEE members to experience firsthand the college environment and to help and assist them as they research and prepare for this next step in their life.

Academy Encore Ensemble Protocol

Academy Encore Ensemble is a program for those students wishing for a more realistic, professional and competitive theatre environment.  The amount of experience and stage time that AEE company members receive each and every season is unparalleled in the Western New York area.  While the ATA school program is a non-competitive theatrical environment which ensures all ATA students equal stage time, the AEE Theatre Company runs on a completely different level.  While we wish we could give all our company members equal stage time, it is just not possible in this accelerated program.  To be a member of AEE, all company members must understand that shows will be cast and produced to make the production the best quality it can be.  When creating a show and assigning a cast, many factors must be taken into consideration, including level of vocal and/or dance skill, physical traits and how that will work for a specific show character, and chemistry created between characters.  For us to continue to maintain and build a quality program, we MUST place each and every member where we truly feel they fit in each and every production.  As members of a company, we must demand that our company be as professional as it possibly can be and our reputation to be of the highest quality.  If any individual feels that they are not comfortable with the logistics of theatre in this realistic and professional environment, they may continue with ATA in the non-competitive high school program.
